Jets look to improve playoff chances vs. lowly Sharks | |
The Winnipeg Jets haven't been very consistent during their playoff push, but they have a prime opportunity to get on track with Tuesday's visit to the San Jose Sharks. Since the Jets (41-30-3, 85 points) are seven points behind the Dallas Stars for third place in the Central Division, the wild-card race is looking like Winnipeg's most realistic route into the postseason. The Jets hold the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, sitting four points ahead of the Calgary Flames and five points ahead of the Nashville Predators. Being in a playoff position gives the Jets some comfort, but the team hasn't helped itself by mostly treading water over the last few weeks. Winnipeg is a modest 6-5-1 in its last 12 games, including Saturday's 4-1 loss to the red-hot Los Angeles Kings. MORE |
