Analysis: The Chiefs also have one of their best defensive backs, Rashad Fenton, who missed their first two playoff games with a back injury. Fenton was third on the team with seven tackles and Mathieu had six when Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and rookie wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase torched the Kansas City defense in a 34-31 victory in Week 17. Burrow threw for 446 yards and four touchdowns while Chase caught 11 passes for 266 yards and three of the TDs.
Dec. 26, 20217:15 PM PT8:15 PM MT9:15 PM CT10:15 PM ET3:15 GMT11:15 8:15 PM MST9:15 PM CST10:15 PM EST9:15 PM CT7:15 UAE (+1)22:15 ET1:15 - Mathieu exited Sunday's game against Pittsburgh in the second half with a quadriceps injury. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after his team's 36-10 win that the Pro Bowl safety has a contusion.
Analysis: The Chiefs were blowing the Steelers out at the time of Mathieu's departure, so it doesn't seem like the injury is anything too concerning. There's still a chance Mathieu gets held out of one or two of the final regular-season games to have him near full health for the playoffs.

Analysis: Mathieu missed Kansas City's season opener after testing positive for COVID-19, but he has started every other game for the AFC West-leading Chiefs. He has 46 tackles along with two interceptions and is crucial in helping to set the defense each play.
Sep. 12, 20216:52 PM PT7:52 PM MT8:52 PM CT9:52 PM ET1:52 GMT9:52 6:52 PM MST7:52 PM CST8:52 PM EST7:52 PM CT5:52 UAE (+1)21:52 ET0:52 - Mathieu, who missed the Chiefs' season opener while recovering from COVID-19, is active for Sunday's game at Baltimore.
Analysis: Mathieu missed last week's win over Cleveland for conditioning reasons and could see a few less snaps than usual after returning to practice this week. The All-Pro safety is coming off another strong season in which he set a career high with six interceptions.
